hey, when do you start christmas vacation and what school do you go to. i have off for 2 weeks because i go to private catholic school. i am also in 8th grade, Yah Me!!!!! toady ( dec.190 and yesterday i got out og school at 11:45 a.m. yeah so, i don’t go back to school until january 5, 2009.

What the British refer to as a holiday, we call a vacation here in America. We call days like Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Years, Easter, etc. "holidays" but what would the British call them?

Do people who work as employees at a colleges get time off during Christmas vacation, spring vacation and summer vacation just like students? I’m curious because going to work every single day and only getting a small vacation is not appealing to me and therefore, I would like to work in a school setting with a relaxed atmosphere and long vacations. Does anybody understand my reasoning, because people who work at colleges seem to enjoy their jobs.

I’m writing a Christmas story and I can’t decide on which destination my characters should go for vacation. They’re all teenagers and one of their birthdays is on New Years.
